Our Mission
Carneros, largely an agricultural community, spans the southern
portions of Napa and Sonoma Counties and borders the San Pablo Bay, one
of the country's most critical coastal areas and marshlands.
The mission of the Carneros Land Stewardship Foundation is as follows:
- To
undertake educational programs and projects to inform and enhance the
public's knowledge and awareness of the region's ecological footprint
and the influences of the San Pablo Bay, its wetlands, marshes and
wildlife habitats in an agricultural community facing cultural and
technological change.
- To fund small-scale
resource management projects to conserve, restore and protect a diverse
and sustainable ecosystem that supports a broad range of fish, wildlife
and plant species within the Carneros region.
- To
fund projects devoted to research dedicated to innovative technologies
to manage the region's water resources through more efficient
sustainable agricultural practices.
